The SNB Logo represents the Saudi National Bank, the largest commercial bank in Saudi Arabia, an institution born from a landmark merger of two of the Kingdom’s most prestigious financial institutions. The brand carries the weight of seven decades of banking history while projecting a forward-looking identity aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 transformation agenda.

About SNB Logo

The Saudi National Bank (SNB), also known as SNB AlAhli, was formally created on April 1, 2021, through the merger of the National Commercial Bank (NCB) and Samba Financial Group. The roots of SNB, however, reach back to December 26, 1953, when NCB received its Royal Decree, making it the first bank to be officially licensed and operate in Saudi Arabia. NCB was established through the merger of several large currency exchange houses in the Kingdom and became the country’s flagship financial institution. Samba Financial Group, the other entity that merged to form SNB, traces its lineage to 1980, when Citibank’s Saudi operations were transformed into the Saudi American Bank, later renamed Samba.

History of SNB

Over the decades, NCB grew into Saudi Arabia’s largest and most systemically important bank, establishing its Shariah Board in 1996 and converting to a joint-stock company in 1997. The Saudi Government’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) holds the majority stake, making SNB effectively a state-backed institution. In 2021, the merger with Samba Financial Group created the Arabian Gulf’s third-largest bank by assets after Qatar National Bank and First Abu Dhabi Bank. SNB began trading as a unified entity on April 1, 2021, with all Samba and NCB branding transitioning to the new SNB identity within Saudi Arabia.

Products & Services

SNB offers a full spectrum of banking services including retail banking, corporate and institutional banking, treasury services, investment banking, brokerage, and asset management. Its investment arm, SNB Capital, is among the largest asset managers and brokerages in Saudi Arabia. SNB also owns a 67.03% controlling stake in Türkiye Finans, the leading Turkish participation bank, providing a significant international footprint in emerging markets. As of 2026, SNB’s total assets stand at approximately $327.7 billion.
